Fast Scoring By L. Favell (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) JOHANNESBURG, Feb. 15. Les Favell scored an unbeaten 53 in an hour to give Australia a fast start in its chase after Griqualand West’s first innings score of 185. It had scored 88 runs for the loss of Burke’s wicket at the end of the first day’s play in Johannesburg yesterday. Favell and R. Simpson had put on 67 in 39 minutes for the second wicket. Rain was falling this morning and caused play in the second day of the match to be abandoned.
