“Well-Known Figures”
(Rec. 8.30 p.m.) JAKARTA, Feb. 18. Observers in Jakarta today said that some of Indonesia's bestknown figures were included in the revolutionary Government's Cabinet. The Premier and Finance Minister, Dr. Sjafruddln Prawlnranegara, was dismissed as Governor of the Bank of Indonesia. He is a former Finance Minister of the Central Government and was a leading figure in Indonesia’s independence revolt. He is a prominent member of the Moslem antiCommunist Masjumi Party. The Home Affairs Minister is Colonel Dahlan Djambek, a former deputy Army Chief of Staff and Indonesian Military Attache to Britain from 1952 to 1956. The Foreign Affairs Minister is Colonel Maludin Simbolon, former commander in North Sumatra, who was deposed in a bloodless coup at Medan in December, 1956. The Defence and Justice Minister, Dr. Burhanudin Harahap is a former Premier of Indonesia and is a member of the Masjumi Party. The Education and Health Minister, Mr Mochamad Sjafei, is widely regarded as an educational expert in Central Sumatra. The Commerce, Shipping and Trade Minister, Professor Sumitro Djojohadikusumo, is a former Finance Minister from the Socialist Party. He is at present in Geneva. He is said to be one of Indonesia’s leading economists. Padang Radio, monitored in Jakarta last night, said the new ''revolutionary Republic of Indonesia” would have its capital at Bukittinggi, in ' the heart of Sumatra. The radio broadcast the ceremony of swearing-in the members of the new Cabinet
