SCAFFOLDING ACT

Investigation By Committee (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, January 21. The Minister of Labour (Mr F. Hackett) announced today that as a result of the Royal Commission on the D.I.C. scaffolding accident he had asked several interested organisations to nominate representatives for a committee to bring down recommendations for amendments to the Scaffolding Act and Regulations. Mr Hackett said he nad now appointed the following to the committee: Mr E. E. Hendriksen. civil engineer of the Ministry ©f Works (chairman); Mr P. M. Butler and Mr F. L. Fenton, representing the Federation of Labour, Mr W. F. Molineux, representing the combined committee of building trades’ unions; Mr A. G. Wells and Mr A. D. Paddison, of Wellington, and Mr H. W. Cor mack, of Auckland, representing the New Zealand Employers’ Federation; Mr H. L, Bockett, representing the Department of Labpur. The Minister said he expected the* committee to hold its first meeting early next month.
