Big Extension To City Building
Almost 17,000 square feet will be added to .the ground floor of J. Ballantyne and Company, Ltd., when a contract let recently to the W. Williamson Construction Company, Ltd., is completed by December. The chairman of directors of the company (Mr G. N. Francis) said yesterday that the additions, which will consist initially of a ground floor and basement, will be erected on the vacant land between the | company’s Cashel street and Lichfield street frontages. Work on the contract will begin shortly. The building, which will be fully air-conditioned, will be of reinforced concrete and provision will be made for future extension.
