Lace And Net Week In London
A behind-the-scenes glimpse of the lace industry will be given to visitors to Hamilton House, Piccadilly, London, in February when the second London Lace Week will be held. Leading London stores will be invited to take part in a competition for the best displays of lace, net and embroidery mounted by their own teams in the main exhibition hall of this magnificent seventeenth century mansion built originally for the Duke of Hamilton. There will also be a fashion parade of lingerie and outer-wear in lace and its sister fabrics. Demonstrations by experts carrying out on the spot some of the skilled jobs they daily undertake in British fabrics will give visitors some idea of the processes of lace, net and embroidery manufacture.
