ONE OF THE LESSER KNOWN SOUNDS OF FIORDLAND.—An aerial view of Nancy Sound, looking inland. A scientific expedition from the Canterbury Museum is exploring the peninsula lying between Nancy Sound and Thompson Sound, a few miles to the south. Part of this peninsula is shown in the upper right of the photograph. As far as the expedition has been able to ascertain in a long inquiry there is no record of men having entered this mountainous and bush-clad area.
