Child Drowned In Swimming Pool
(New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, January 21. A girl found on the bottom of the swimming pool at the South Pacific Hotel at Waiwera last night was dead on arrival at Auckland Hospital. She was: Karen Heapes, aged 8, of Birkenhead.
A doctor who was staying at the hotel and a member of a surf club administered artificial respiration. Oxygen was also given the girl, but it is thought she may have been dead when taken from the pool.
