ELECTRICITY FROM BENMORE.—This mountain valley of the Waitaki river will contain a lake one and a half times the size of Wellington harbour when the earth dam of the Benmore hydro-electric power scheme Is completed in 1965. About 3000 acres of land will be flooded for water storage, equalling that of Lake Tekapo and Lake Pukaki combined.
