DUTCH FROM INDONESIA

Three Ships Near Port ROTTERDAM, January 18. Three ships are due at Dutch ports tomorrow with the first big batch of Dutch refugees from Indonesia. The 13,876-ton British ship. Captain Cook, is carrying 998 of the 1914 refugees. The rest are being brought by the 12,342-ton Dutch liner, Sibajak, and the P. and O. liner, Corfu. Most of them will go to private boarding houses which the Government has already booked. The Dutch Social Welfare Minister, Dr. Marge Klompe, has expressed concern at the lack of public response to an appeal for offers of accommodation. She said that if the public reacted insufficiently, more drastic measures would have to be taken. This was taken to mean that the Government would requistion living space. Some 45,000 repratiates are expected to arrive in Holland in the next six months or so.
