Ministry And Members The thirty-second Parliament of New Zealand' will be opened tomorrow afternoon. After eight years in Opposition, the Labour Party is now on the Treasury benches. At the General Election in November last year, it won 41 of the 79 seats in the House of Representatives contested. The Clutha election (for the eightieth seat) was postponed when a candidate died but this seat has been retained by the National Party.
In the General Election, the National Party lost six seats and now has 39 members in the House.
In the list of members of the House of Representatives given below, those marked with an asterisk were not members of the last House.
