SYNTAX ON WAY HOME (NJS. Press Associationr-Copyrlght) MELBOURNE, January 8. Syntax, the top New Zealand galloper which ended his racing career when he broke down at Mentone a few weeks ago, left tonight on hli way back to the Dominion. Syntax, the winner of 19 races and stakes of £25.070, is due to leave Sydney by ship next Friday. He will stand at the stud in the Hamilton district. Syntax was accompanied by hia owner, Mr Stan Walker, who flew to Melbourne from New Zealand thia week to return with the horse. After Syntax had won the Liston, Memsie and Underwood Stakes in Melbourne last spring, he hurt himself in his stable and could not start in the Caulfield Cup.
