Archery J. Hinchco Wins Field Shoot
(New Zealand Press Association) NEW PLYMOUTH, January 9. In sipte of a gusty wind, there was some splendid shooting in the field shoot competition of the New Zealand archery championships at New Plymouth today. The consistent Auckland archer, J. W. Hinchco, won the men’s section with a good score of 574* points. He finished 11 ahead of B. C. Fraser (Lower Hutt). Hinchco regained the trophy he lost last year. In the intermediate boys’ section there was high scoring, with A. N. Booth (Dunedin) gaining 398 points. He had a clear lead.
The teams’ competition was won by the Greenwoods Club, New Plymouth, the host club for the championships. Its competitors were not in the nigh-scoring bracket, but each scored consistently. The championships will conclude tomorrow.
