Boy Lands Big Trout
There are many anglers in Canterbury who would like to have been Brian Nobb, of 19 Brighton terrace, on Monday evening. Brian, a member of a keen angling family, landed a beautifully-con-ditioned brown trout when lake fishing in the Ellesmere district. The fish weighed 91b. This, in itself, is quite an achievement for a boy aged 12, but when it is realised that he landed his fish on a lure rod with a 71b breaking strain trace, his feat is all the more praiseworthy. He has only been fishing for two seasons and already has had outstanding success.
