The General Election
Sir,—While I was listening to the address of Mr Nash after the election results, I noted that he made a reference to working for “loyalty to the United Nations, and to the Queen.” I note that •'The Press” has reported the speech as though Mr Nash mentioned the Queen before the United Nations. However, I have discussed the matter with others who listened to the broadcast, and there is no doubt that Mr Nash, in the order of his pledges of loyalty, mentioned Her Majesty last—Yours, etc., CORRECTIONEM.
December 5, 1957. [The Prime Minister’s Office has replied that the Prime Minister (Mr Nash) as a rule does hot reply to anonymous letters through the newspapers. If the writers cared to write to the Prime Minister personally, they should get a reply.]
