HURRICANE WARNING
Planes Leave Fiji (New Zeaiana Press Association) AUCKLAND, January 6. Six Royal New Zealand Air Force flying-boats flew from Suva to Auckland to-night to escape a hurricane which hit the north-east tip of Fiji late today. They made the emergency flight as hurricane warnings were broadcast throughout the island.
Two airliners are due from Fiji tomorrow morning, but local managers did not know to-night whether their time-tables would be upset by the hurricane. The one Solent flying-boat operated by Tasman Empire Airways was on a return flight from Tahiti to Fiji, and was expected at Apia, Western Samoa, to-night.
