Situation: A depression over the Tasman Sea is approaching Auckland Province, and a deep depression is southeast of the Chatham Islands.

Forecast:— Canterbury: Moderate variable winds, easterlies predominating; a few scattered showers, but weather mainly fair, temperatures cool, but rising. Outlook: scattered showers. Westland: Moderate easterly winds; weather fair, with moderate temperatures. Outlook: fair.
