Hints For Washing Nylon Garments
Nylon is the easiest fabric of all to launder and no-one wants to do more than the barest essentials in the way of laundering at holiday time. But even on holiday nylon needs a certain amount of care in the wash. Use really hot water for white or pastel nylons. If a white petticoat becomes a little grey after a while, put a tablespoon of glycerine in the rinsing water. Always rinse nylon thoroughly as traces of soap or detergent leave a greyish deposit. The rinsing water should be the same temperature as the washing water. Never wring nylon garments. Let them drip-dry and hang them in the shade. Wash white nylon garments separately from coloured things as a trace of dye in the water could discolour the white ones. When washing printed or dark coloured nylons use only lukewarm water.
