WOMAN DIES OF INJURIES
Car Strikes Tree At Kaiapoi A woman died in hospital yesterday soon after being involved in a motor accident at Kaiapoi. She was: Agnes Wren, a widow, of 12 Sandwich street, Kaiapoi. Mrs Wren was in a car with her daughter, Mrs Daphne Iris Loveday, of 35 Colombo street, when it hit a tree in Poplar avenue, Kaiapoi. It is not yet known who was driving the car. Mrs Wren was severely injured. She was taken by ambulance to the Christchurch Hospital and admitted at 4.55 p.m. She died within 10 minutes. An inquest into her death will be opened before the ActingCoroner (Mr P. A. Leßrun) this morning. Mrs Loveday was also taken to hospital. After treatment she was sent home.
