Altered Exchange Rates
The £ lost a quarter of a cent in relation to the Canadian dollar last week. The £ gained slightly in relation to the United States dollar.
Altered telegraphic transfer exchange rates, as advised on Monday ,by the Bank of New South Wales, are as follows:
New Zealand on — New York: buying 2.8020 dollars to £N.Z. (compared with 2.8013 dollars on December 23); selling 2.7702 dollars (2.7696). Montreal: 2.7595 dollars (2.7620); 2.7240 dollars (2.7264). Austria: 72.89 schillings (72.94); 71.36 schillings (71.44). Belgium: 141,82 francs (141.99); 137.30 francs (137.50). _ Denmark: 19.57 kroner (19.59); 18.89 kroner (18.91). Italy: 1754 lire (1752); 1719 lire (1717). Netherlands: 10.67 guilder (10.68); 10.41 guilder (10.42). _ Norway: 20.23 kroner (20.24); 19.56 kroner (10.57). Switzerland: 12.25 francs (12.27); 12.01 francs (12.02). _ x t Western Germany: 11.76 Deutsche marks (11.77); 11.51 Deutsche marks (11.53).
