Soviet Industry’s “Boom Year”
(NZ Press Association—Cownqtii ■ MOSCOW. December 31 Soviet industry had a boom year in 1957 and over-all output was 10 per cent, up on the previous year, according to a report issued today by the Central Statistics Bureau. The American Associated Pressquoted the report as saying that the man responsible for much of the production success was the Soviet Communist Party chiei Mr Khrushchev
His decentralisation programme released the initiative of the executives involved and raised the initiative of the working masses, the report said.
