PARLIAMENT CONVENED
Session To Start On January 21 (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, December 30. The thirty-second Parliament will be opened on Tuesday, January 21, 1958, according to an extraordinary Gazette published tonight. Parliament had previously been prorogued until January 23, but “whereas for certain causes and considerations I have thought fit to convene that meeting for an earlier date” the GovernorGeneral (Lord Cobham) has summoned members to appear on January 21 at 2.30 p.m. The Governor-General commands members “to take into consideration the State and welfare of New Zealand and therein to do as may seem necessary.”
