Storm Brewing At Pukaki
(New Zealand Press Association) TIMARU, December 29.
A strong north-west wind was howling across the alps and it seemed another storm was gathering, said the senior engineer for the Ministry of Works (Mr A. G. Ferry) in a telephone conversation from Lake Pukaki to-night. “Things are pretty grim,’* Mr Ferry said. “All we can do is to keep our fingers crossed.”
