“MEET ME AT HAY’S” Helps Visitors To City
With nearly 2500 visiting bowlers, plus * wives and families and many hundreds of other holiday makers from all over New Zealand, there is great activity in the City. The women folk and their family are naturally drawn to the shopping areas to “do the Stores” and no doubt many are using the well-known Christchurch meeting phrase “Meet me at Hay’s.” This well-known shopping centre is happy to welcome the many visitors to the “Friendly Store.” With Christmas shopping over, Hay’s has already assumed a holiday look—with special displays of summer attire; cotton frocks, warm weather fabrics, camping gear of all kinds and special shows of gift novelties and hosts of gift ideas for which customers are looking. Most folk like to take some useful souvenir gift home with them and here Hay’s has many useful and attractive answers.
For the younger generation Hay’s wonderful holiday roof provides a wealth of fun and games and every girl and boy must make a journey on the thrilling Fairyland Train—a delightful miniature railway which takes the young folk on a real journey of enchantment.
Hay’s tearooms are open all day for morning and afternoon teas and luncheons and their Service Bureau on the Ground Floor will gladly help with any special information required about bus timetables, trains, etc. Stamps, too, are available together with postal facilities. No wonder you hear Christchurch people say to their visiting friends “Meet me at Hay’s.” —Advt.
