GUN DOG TRIALS
Canterbury Club’s Last Field Day When the final field trial of the year was held at McLean’s Island by the Canterbury Gun Dor Club on Sunday, the event •U’asmainly for women handlers The Storey Cup for women handlers was won by Mrs J. W. Stanton with Dalkey Sharon, and she handled the dog exceptionally well. Mrs W H Bird handled Dalkey Shane very canably to finish a close second, and Mrs M. Hoxman gave a sound display to finish third. Competitors did not complete the course in the Aulsebrook Shield event, which was not restricted to women handlers. Results were:— Storey Challenge Cup (Mr H. Cox. judge).—Mrs J W Stanton’s springer spaniel. Dalkev Sharon. 176 points. 1: Mrs W H Bird’s springer spaniel Dalkey Shane 174. 2: Mrs M. Hoxmah's Labrador. Woodlin Sam. 171,. 3. Limit Water (Mr W Streeter, judge).—Mrs M Hoxman's Labrador. Linwood Floss. 87. 1 Limit Land (Mr W. Streeter, judee).—Mrs I Taylor’s Labrador. Lynbury Glyn. 89. 1: Miss J. Wiffin’s Labrador champion. Ron of Strathlea, 85. 2. Puppy Land (Mr H. Cox. judge).— Mrs M Hoxman’s Labrador. Linwood Sailor. 75. 1. Handicap Event (Mr S. F. Wiffin. judge).—R M. Morten’s Irish water spaniel. Eirannach Pawhero Kopara. 113. 1. Rirangi Challenge Cup (for competitor gaining most points for the year).—R. M Morten 1840.
