OLYMPIC GAMES IN MELBOURNE
Soviet Criticism (N.Z, Press Association—Copyright) (Rec. 10 p.m.) MOSCOW, Dec. 1. The Soviet youth newspaper “Komsomolskaya Pravda,” today criticised the organisation of the Olympic Games in Melbourne last year. It disputed the reported claim by the secretary of the Australian Olympic Federation. Mr Edgar Tanner, that Australia had proved herself eminently suited to be host country again in about 20 years’ time. The newspaper said: “Far from everybody agrees with his appraisal of the last Olympiad. The ‘objectivity’ of the public and the ‘smooth’ organisation were very much open to dispute, observers say.”
