Soldiers Used In Ceylon Strike
COLOMBO. Dec. 1. Soldiers and sailors today took over supply and distribution of food and water, transport and sanitation after 7500 Colombo municipal’ council workers had gone on strike. The sewerage system had already broken down in some lowlying areas and the entire system was threatened unless action was taken when the troops took over. The workers went on strike yesterday for increased wagesand other amenities.
