CAPE CANAVERAL (Florida) December 2.
Rocket engineers were reported ready and waiting today to fire America’s first artificial satellite into space—perhaps as early as dawn tomorrow* A spokesman for Project Vanguard said yesterday that the three-stage rocket was on the launching site at the Air Force missile test centre.
