SEA CADET CORPS SHOOTING
(New Zealand Press Association) DUNEDIN, Dec. 2.
A team of eight shooters from the Dunedin Sea Cadet Corps has topped New Zealand in the Commonwealth inter-corps .22 rifle shooting competition. The boys are now eagerly awaiting the results for the whole of the Commonwealth. A Dunedin cadet, Petty Officer A. Goding, an apprentice boilermaker at Hillside, scored the highest individual total for New Zealand. The competition is open to all Sea Cadet Corps in the Commonwealth, with the Duke of Edinburgh Trophy being awarded to the winners. It was initiated ]ast year by the Canadian Navy League, and the first winners were members of the Lee oh Solent unit in England. The Dunedin team finished ip tenth place.
