CRASH OF TIGER MOTH
Evidence To Coroner On Cause (New Zealand Press Association) MASTERTON, November 20. The view that the crash of a Tiger Moth aircraft near the Hood aerodrome. Masterton. on October 9. had been caused by incorrect spin recovery action by the pilot was expressed in evidence before thd District Coroner (Mr R. A. C. Selby. J.P.) in Masterton today by Mr O. J. O’Brien, Chief Inspector of Air Accidents for the Air Department. The pilot. Arthur Alexander Greig, of Wellington, was found by the Coroner to have died from extensive burns and shock. Mr P. B. Legg, flying instructor to the Wairarapa and Ruahine Aero Cub. said that Greig was to have undergone his examination for a private licence later the same morning, and the witness had been giving him some instruction before the crash. The aircraft crashed and burst Into flames.
