Primary Schools' Tennis Titles
The annual primary schoolchildren’s tennis championships were completed recently.
Results were: — Boys’ Singles.—Semi-finals: AHatherley (Loreto) beat D. McCosh (Linwood Intermediate). 6-4: M. Thom (Loreto) beat N. Blazey (Linwood Intermediate), 6-3. Final: Thom beat Hatherley, 6-2. Boys’ Doubles. —Semi-finals: Hatherley and Thom (Loreto) beat Brebner and Adams (Fendalton), 6-3: Blazey and Molnar (Linwood Intermediate and Bromley) beat Robinson and Howman (St. Andrew’s). 6-3. Final: Hatherley and iThom beat Blazey and Molnar. 6-2. Girls’ Singles.—Semi-finals: L. ‘King (Bromleyi beat S. Jenkins (Linwood Intermediate), 6-3; S. Spitzer (Cashmere) beat P. Brougham (Paparoa Street), 6-0. Final: King beat Spitzer. 6-0. Girls’ Doubles.—Semi-finals: Hopping and King (Bromley) beat Jenkins and Robinson (Linwood Intermediate), 6-2; Brougham and Nesbitt (Paparoa Street! beat Dawson and Cook (St. Margaret’s). 6-4. Final: Hopping and King beat Brougham and Nesbitt, 1-1.
