PIGEON RACING Canterbury Club
The first of a series of longdistance races was held recently by the Canterbury Pigeon Flying Club when birds flew from Gisborne to Christchurch. As they encountered bad weather, few birds homed in race time.
In a race from Woodville to Christchurch the birds met good flying conditions, and the first bhd home, owned by A. Lindsay, recorded tne last time ui bur *.o!mn 58sec. Detailed results were:—
Gisborne-to-Christchurch race: K. Hartland’s bird 1, N. Stringer 2, C. Williams 3, E. Milne 4, J. Hartland 5, L. Cooper 6-Woodville-to-Christchurch race: A. Lindsay’s bird 1, K. Hartland 2. V. Main 3, N. Stringer 4, L, Cooper 6, A. Stone «.
