SOCIAL CREDIT VOTERS

Definition By Mr Algie

As he saw it. there were four kinds of persons who had voted for the Social Credit party at the last General Election, said the Minister Education (Mr R. M. Algie). in an election address in Christchurch.

The first kind were the persons who believed sincerely in Social Credit principles. The second kind were persons who had “fallen for the welfare State, and thought that they could take the Social Credit promises, and would not have to pay for them.”

The third kind were persons who had wanted to give the Government “a fright." (“There were not so many of this kind, although I take it they have seen their mistake.") The fourth kind were a little group of persons who could not resist “putting a pound on an outsider.”

“I advise you to keep off ’outsiders' at this election," Mr Algie said to electors.

; Because of the vital importance [of trades talks to primary indusI tries, leaders appointed by the Dairy Board and Dairy Products Marketing Commission should be included in the personnel of such delegations, the Taranaki ward conference of the Dairy Board agreed yesterday. Mr L. D. Hickford, of Okato. proposed the motion. “We will in future have to take a far firmer line, and tackle such bodies as the Associated Chambers of Commerce,” he said. —(P.A.)
