ran into a breaking horse. Rosalinda and Aksarben were checked when Gold Hanover broke. Gentry was pacing well within himself racing to the straight, where he had an advantage of two lengths over Night Reveller.; with Compeer, Rosalinda, Mossgiel. Aksarben. and Conquistador following. Gentry was under a hold over the last furlong to win by 10 lengths. Mossgiel. which was fairly, handy most of the way, finished on strongly over the last furlong to take second place by a length from Aksarben, which showed plenty of dash after meeting trouble and then breaking again. Makairiki was a useful fourth, ahead of Compeer, with Gay Alabama beaten off. Night Reveller broke when handy just inside the furlong. Auditor Outstanding Auditor recorded a fine effort to win the Cashmere Handicap, for which he was a strong favourite. The race was marred by an accident caused by White Caps breaking just as the field reached the back straight with more than four furlongs left. Among those to suffer bad checks were Star Dora. Vierosa. Loyal Cis, Scottish Command, Golden Chimes, Quo Vadis, Responsive, Covrex, and Single Derby. Golden Chimes and Responsive were pulled up. Auditor broke at the start and lost about 48 yards. He set off round the field with just unde) seven furlongs left and he raced up to the pacemaker White Caps at the five furlongs. He worked clear when White Caps broke and! turned for home ahead of Star Dora. Loyal Cis. Fourth Edition,! which broke at the furlong. Scottish Command and Quo Vadis. Auditor ran out the last furlong too solidly for his rivals and !he won well. I Loyal Cis battled on to deadheat for second with Scottish Commend four lengths in front of Quo Vadis. which just shaded Vierosa. with Star Dora and Fourth Edition next. Winner from Cambridge Swift Flight gave the Cambridge trainer, P. Skousgaard, his first win at Addington when she outstayed her field in the Author Dillon Handicap.
