Doctor “Must Use His Own Discretion*’
(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON. November 12. A doctor must always act in the best interests of his patient —that was laid down by etiquette, law and everything else, a representative of the Wellington Division of the British Medical Association said today when asked to comment on yesterday’s cabled report from London on the attitude of E.M.A. headquarters there to the question of the disclosure by doctors of information about their patient Io any third party. “This has always been an extremely difficult question.'’ he added, “and a doctor must be left to use his own discretion in every particular set of circum- | stances.”
