Scholarship Perpetuates Road Accident.—The second Thai student to be awarded the John Peurifoy fellowship—named after the American ambassador who died in a road accident in Bangkok in 1955—has left for the United States. The student, Nai Pramote Chitaratanon, will call on Mrs Peurifoy, the widow of the ambassador, at Tulsa, Oklahoma. on his way to Tufts University, Massachusetts. The funds for the fellowship come from interest on a gift of 24.000 dollars presented to Mrs Peurifoy on behalf of the people of Thailand after her husband's death. Mrs Peurifoy said she thought her husband would have wanted the money to be used to help deserving Thai students— Bangkok.
