Flats For Married Students

The erection of flats for married students who were studying for the Presbyterian ministry at the Theological Hall, Dunedin, was approved in principle at the General Assembly of the Church yesterday. The matter has now been referred to the hall committee and Knox College for further consideration.

A report said that 36 of the 55 students at the hall were married. Investigations showed a block of 12 flats would cost about £35,000 and a report from the hall committee suggested if half the cost could be raised from gifts from interested persons and Assembly funds, the flats could be erected and rents charged that students could pay.
