Lyttelton Trains Delayed

Train services on the Christ-church-Lyttelton line were de-' layed last evening after an electric engine ran through the points in the Lyttelton railway yard between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. The second express train from Christchurch carrying passengers for the inter-island steamer express was 35 minutes late reaching Lyttelton. and the steamer did not leave Lyttelton until 9.15 p.m.

Delay to trains was caused by time taken to check points at the Lyttelton end of the line. Electric engines were prevented from leaving Lyttelton after the fault in the points, and steam engines had to be used. A train scheduled to leave Lyttelton at 10.30 p.m. was late in departing, and was drawn by a steam engine.
