“Great Credit Due To Teachers” (New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND. October 21. The standard of dancing had improved in New Zealand and. great credit was due the teachers, said Mr E. K. Espinosa, chairman! of the British Ballet Organisation.l before his departure for Sydney. “After all, the teachers and! pupils do not see many visiting' professionals and travelling com-! panics, and they must get a lot of their knowledge from the textbooks,” he said. In a fortnight. Mr Espinosa travelled from Auckland to Invercargill. visiting classes, lecturing and giving demonstrations. He was “quite amazed” at the work he saw. Mr Espinosa praised Paul Gnatt’s New Zealand Ballet Company, and said he also looked forward to good results from the efforts of an Auckland dancer. Russell Kerr, who is producer for the Auckland Amateur Ballet Society.
