(Rec. 9 p.m.) LONDON. October 21. According to the newspaper, advertisements for the jobs appear in the late.. Ministry of Supply circular to scientists in its employment.

Scientists are invited to apply for jobs with the War Office Operational Research Unit—a specialised group which studies and develops weapons and military tactics.

Mrs Barbara Castle, a Labour member of Parliament, will ask questions about the advertisements when the House of Commons reassembles next week, the report says.

Mrs Castle will ask the War Minister. Mr John Hare, how many scientists are being recruited for these jobs and whether he intends to extend the scheme to other overseas areas.

She will also ask the Defence Minister Mr Duncan Sandys. to what extent he will equip Britain’s South-east Asian forces with nuclear weapons.
