Auckland Fund For Injured All Black

The Auckland Rugby Union has opened a special fund for Howard Levien, the All Black five-eighths, whose left leg was amputated after an accident in Dunedin last Saturday.

The union launched the appeal yesterday with £lOO from the injured players’ fund. Within half an hour of the decision to start the appeal, another £5 donation had been received.

Hotel Tariffs Exempted.— The tariffs of 15 North I: land hotels and the Grand Hotel. Dunedin, have been exempted from price control as from Octol er 18 bv the Minister of Industries and Commerce <Mr E. H. Halstead) under the Control of Prices Act, 1947.
