SHOTS FIRED AT AIRLINER
Israeli Jet Over Jordan (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) (Rec. 11 p.m.) CAIRO, October 19. Passengers on a Jordanian airliner landing at Cairo today said an Israeli fighter buzzed the plane this afternoon, firing machinegun bursts, the Egyptian-sponsored Middle East news agency reported. „ ■ Th .u American Associated Press reported from Cairo that the aircraft was not damaged and there were no casualities among the 14 passengers and crew of four. The American pilot, Jess Stallworth, said the lighter was a French-made Mystere. He said the incident occurred 50 miles north of Aqaba, in Jordan about 25 miles from the Israeli border. .The fighter approached from the east—over Arab territory—and made two passes indicating that the airliner should follow towards Israel.
