Pedestrian Crossings
Sir, —After numerous phenomenal avoidances I have come to the conclusion that the regulations regarding pedestrians, jaywalking, and pedestrian crossings might as well not exist. Riding a motor-cycle as I do, any collision with a pedestrian is likely to do more damage to me than to the pedestrian, yet I am regarded by the average “near-miss” as. a homicidal maniac. Would it be possible for the local traffic department to pay more, in fact some, attention to this aspect of road safety?—Yours, etc., TWO-WHEELER. October 2, 1957.
