CITY BUILDING AT AUCTION
Passed In At £33,000
A four-storeyed concrete and brick office building at 95 Gloucester street, between Oxford tearace and Colombo street, was passed in at £33.000 at a public auction in Christchurch yesterday. The building was offered on account of Mr R. H. Denton.
The building is on a little more than 10 perches. The floor space is more than 10,000 feet, and a lif: runs to the fourth storey. Bidding opened at £25,000 and rose by eight bids of £lOOO. The auctioneer said that the highest bid was very near the reserve. About 30 persons attended. Flats Property A property of two self-con-tained flats at 130 Victoria street was passed in at auction. About 10 persons attended. The property is about 22 perches with a 54ft frontage, and is zoned commercial. Bidding began at £4500, and rose slowly by four bids of £lOO and one of £5O to £4950, when it was passed in. A house property of 1 rood 17 perches with a four-roomed residence, outbuildings and established garden, one and a half miles from the Halswell School, was sold yesterday afternoon oy public auction for £lB5O.
