Committee Approves Programme
The Canterbury District Committee yesterday approved a programme of eight galloping events for the Banks Peninsula Racing Club's meeting at Motukarara on November 2.
Two-year-olds will be catered for in the £2OO Okains Handicap, five furlongs. There will be a seven-furlong event for maiden three-year-olds and older horses for a stake of £2OO. and a mile race for three-vear-old hacks, the Little River Handican. The distance of the Halswell Hack Handicap has been increased from one mile to 11 furlongs. The major races will, as usual, be the J. F. Buchanan Memorial Handicap, one mile and three furlongs. and the Le Bons Handicap, seven furlongs.
