COMMERCIAL Markets More Active But Still Weak
Markets were more active than in the last fortnight on the Christchurch Stock Exchange yesterday when more than 5000 shares changed hands. Price falls again outnumbered rises. Compared with last Christchurch business, Commercial Bank of Australia, Email, J. Gadsden, Forest Products, N.Z. Newspapers and Ampol shares all sold at lower prices. Bank of N.S.W. and Dunlop, N.Z., were firmer. Steady prices were paid for Ballins Breweries, Christchurch Gas, Henry Berry, Coles and N.Z. Cement.
