(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright)
(Rec. 11 p.m.) PARIS, October 1. The President of France (Mr Rene Coty) "ill start his search today for a new Prime Minister for France’s 24th post-Liberation Government.
The dramatic defeat last night by 279 votes to 253 of the Algerian Home <Rule Bill has produced a particularly difficult political situation. '
The defeat of the bill was brought about by the unnatural alliance of Extreme Left and Extreme Right, with the former de Gaullists in the middle, pulling the balance down against the Government headed by Mr Bourges-Maunoury.
