SALE OF HEALTH STAMPS
Figure For First Week Health stamp sales for the first week in the Christchurch district were £11,935 and more than £BOOO worth of stamps were sold in the Christchurch metropolitan area. Sales will have another impetus next Saturday when 650 to 700 scouts will sell health stamps at homes in Christchurch and the suburbs "from 8.30 a.m. They will have envelopes containing 2s 6d worth of stamps and sheets of stamps. It is expected that Lyttelton and Sumner will be covered on Saturday, October 12. The districts have ordered more than £lBOO worth of stamps and the Post Office will keep in touch with the depots in each district in case additional supplies are required. “We hope to have the sales completed by noon,” said the provincial treasurer of the Boy Scouts’ Association (Mr F. T. H. Bell) yesterday.
