SCHOOL FOR DEAF MARCHING TEAM
A civic reception will be given to the School for the Deaf marching team and the Band of the Irish Guards at Newcastle when the team tours Australia. The girls will march to the music of the band in this town.
The team will leave New Zealand on November 14 and will return on November 27. It will spend a week in Newcastle and a week in Sydney. During the stay in Sydney, the girls will visit the Blue Mountains.
The team's coach and manager, Mr B. Hogue, yesterday expressed appreciation at the granting of the Show Grounds free by the Canterbury Agricultural and Pastoral Association, the work of the Junior Chamber of Commerce and all others who assisted in making the fund raising day on Sunday such a success.
