PARKING METERS
“Feeding” May Be Prohibited
The a time was coming when the council might have to consider a by-law prohibiting the ‘indiscriminate” use of parking meters, said Cr. H- P. Smith at a meeting of the City Council last evening. Cr. Smith was replying to Cr. N. R. Forbes who had asked whether action could be taken to prevent a person from using metered space to display motor scooters.
That was trading on the stieet, said Cr. Smith, and had not been contemplated when the meters were installed. It might be that action should be taken to prevent persons “feeding” meters and leaving vehicles parked in the spaces all day.
