Dogs’ Board
Sir,—Any person paying board, even £4 a week, could well be thankful he is not an innocent puppy—that is. if my recent experience of charges by animal hospitals applies in all such institutions. I left my six-months-old puppy for 48 hours at a dogs’ hospital, for treatment of a lame leg. on the Friday at 4 p.m. and collected him on Sunday at the same hour. Attention to leg, nil; small bottle of cheap liniment, and heaps of advice thrown in; charge, 30s, which works out at five guineas a week. So we poor souls are not doing so badly.— Yours, etc., P. L. BASHFORD. Amberley, September 2, 1957.
